The
process
The
environmental commitment in FIRPLAK began in 1999 in a great percentage
to the environmental conscience that had been generated already in the
Company, and also to the high costs and the difficulty so that the
residuals of our productive process were received in the sanitary
fillers.
The
project began in team with the Division of made up of the UPB
(Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana) and the co financing o the SENA
(National Service of Learning). The result was the development of a
mill system to process the waste generated by the production process,
and to obtain what we have denominated the ?New
material?
To give
use to this ?New material?, we mounted a plant,
independent of the plant of normal production, to begin a series of
test with the participation of Engineers, Architects and Universities.
As it is hardly natural, the products to develop with this material do
not have to obey to the focus of being directed for bathrooms kitchens
and area clothes.
 At the
moment, this plant is producing the pre-leveled base support for the
bathtubs (before they were manufactured in wood), and baseboards
mediate special cane for hospitals, laboratories and companies of foods.
At the
present time we have approaches with several universities of
Bogot? and Medell?n in order to promote works and
competitions that have as purpose the use of this material in
competitive form.

Our
environmental work has received the recognition of the BID, ACOPI and
the MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT
This process has carried out with full conscience
of the social commitment with our country and the world, in the
generation of an attitude that collaborates in the construction of a
culture of environment preservation, for own benefit and of the future
generation.
